Who we are.
Northland Clothing Center (formerly Clay County Clothes Closet) is dedicated to assisting iindividuals and families receive clothing on a per-need basis. We focus on restoring dignity, self-respect, and hope through the gift of clothing to residents of the KC (MO) Northland, especially Clay County and including Platte, Ray, and portions of Jackson Counties.
We line our walls with clothing racks of new and gently-used clothing, shoes, and new undergarments to provide free of charge to people who are referred to us by members of our referral partner network. We are here for all people, all ages, all circumstance.
Why we need referral partners.
Northland Clothing Center is excellent at sourcing and distributing clothing to individuals and families who need our assistance and services. Referral partners – schools, social service agencies, churches, shelters, and others – are equipped with the resources and expertise needed to reach everyone in our community who might need clothing. We rely on our referral partners to discover and qualify individuals who have a genuine need for clothing, and to assist and communicate with those individuals throughout the service process.
Service Schedule
Regular Service
- Tuesdays: 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (last scheduled appointment)
- 1st Saturday of each month: 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (last scheduled appointment)
- School Breaks/Holidays – (Exception: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day)
Special Circumstances
Emergency service appointments are available for circumstances such as loss from fire, removal from the home due to domestic abuse, and immediate loss of job, and are available to all persons, not just residents of Clay County, MO. If your referral requires an immediate response, note “emergency” on the referral form and the NCC scheduler will contact you directly to make special arrangements for serving your client as immediately as possible.
Upon receipt of the completed NCC Referral Form, our scheduler will respond with an appointment date/time within 24-hours of your request.
